Get super strong with Super Man squats.

Sebastien Gignac

Ever heard about Super Man squat? It's a great legs and glutes exercise. This is a one leg squat where your two arms are pointing in front of you and the other leg is pointing in the opposite direction while it is bent a little bit (see picture). This exercise can be performed with or without a kettlebell. Without a kettlebell you simply take the starting position and get all the way down till your knee touches the deck and then back up. Keep in mind that the descendant phase is done in control, no rush! For some people only keeping control of there balance is a challenge, DON'T PUT THIS EXERCISE AWAY, it is in fact a to good leg stregthener to forget it. For those people, HEY! HERE'S A TIP, take the starting position and before going down pop your hip out, you will kind of sit in your glute, from there go down and back up as mentionned earlier. TRY IT!!

For the kettlebell Super Man squat something was annoying me, when i reached the KB at my feet i've had only done half of the motion, my knee was still far from the deck. READ CAREFULLY THIS TIP if you want to put meat and spices. Do your Super Man squat like this full motion technique; 1- take position and get your knee right to the ground "in control",

2- while getting up grab your KB and finish the movement, 3- slowly get the KB back down and keep going till your knee touches the ground again. Then and only then you're up for one. Keep up going and get nasty strong by performing full motion quality exercises, then seek for next level.
