Preach the Seated Press!

Sebastien Gignac

Hey, here is an exercise that will make you improve your press technique. If you want to get way stronger on the press, have a greater core strength and incredible stabs, don’t miss this one.

The seated press really separate strong push-pressers from “I’m helping a little bit with my legs”. What is so particular with this technique is that in no way you can help it with a kind of jerk, its focussing on strict press. It’s also working the whole core and stabs really badly. Cook it in anyways you want, it can be see saw, doubles and even bottoms up.

I would recommend you to keep a grip on that exercise at least once in a while. Since the seated press are a little harder than a normal military press, you will probably have to work with a lighter kettlebell. If you only have a pood at you disposition then it is great because you will have more to go on with till your next kettlebell purchase.

Keep working with low reps for strength gains, focus on 3 to 5 sets of 3 to 5 reps. Remember, slowly build your reps to have a strong technique and once you will be able to complete a couple of strength training with this kettlebell weight, get a new one. Challenge yourself and get way stronger in no time! Avoid training to failure and train as often as possible.

Train hard and have fun!
